Keylin Mackey, Jr. Nationals silver medalist in the 85kg class, added another silver medal to his collection at this year's Collegiate Nationals in Shreveport, LA. Keylin went 5 for 6 and pr's in snatch, clean and jerk as well as total. Making 121 and 151 for a 272 total, Keylin upped his Jr. Nationals total by 11 kilos.
Also winning silver this weekend in Shreveport was Hassle Free asst. coach Kari Shimomura. Going 4 for 6 with a pr total of 146 kilos, Kari played both the role of coach and athlete, a tough task, in Louisiana this weekend.
Donovan Ford also participated, finishing 4th in the 105 kg class. Dononvan is nursing a sore elbow and purposely went light at this competition.
On the west coast that same day, 17-under world team members Sae Vang and Brandell Sampson showed that they were ready to take on the challeng in Chiang Mai as each pr'd in the snatch by 2 and 3 kilos respectively. Sae improved his snatch to 82 kilos in the 56 kg class and Brandell snatched 120 in the 105 kilo class.
