Ian Wilson Wins Pan American U17 Championships

Ian_Wilson_GoldIan Wilson (Berkeley, Calif. / Hassle Free) won the +94kg title at the Pan American U17 Championships on Saturday in Chiclayo, Peru. 

Although he was one of the lightest athletes in the +94kg division, Wilson’s personal best snatch of 137kg gave him a one kilogram lead over Moises Estaban Sotelo Barajas (MEX) who outweighed the American by 20kg.

 Wilson held the lead in the clean and jerk where he was guaranteed the gold medal after his second lift of 166kg, but with one attempt left, he added four more kilograms to the bar to break his previous best clean and jerk by four kilograms.
