Hassle Free Barbell Club is one of the Premier Weightlifting Clubs in the nation. Although we support lifters at every age and weight class our emphasis is on Junior (20 & U) athletes. It's creation, growth, and ongoing success can be attributed to the dedication of the Doherty brothers, Kevin and Paul . With little support, financial or otherwise, they created two programs and built two facilities that now train hundreds of athletes every year. Both are now High School teachers that got their start in sport performance training as Personal Trainers at Focused Individual Training in Los Altos, CA.
Kevin's Weightlifting facility is located on the campus of Lincoln High School in San Francisco, CA. Paul's facility is on the campus of Sacramento High School. Together they created and manage the Hassle Free Barbell Club. Both are Senior-level USAW Coaches. When not coaching weightlifting, Kevin teaches PE at Lincoln and coaches Football and Track. Paul is the Head Football Coach at Sacramento High, teaches PE, and is the assistant AD. Paul is also a competitive weightlifter.
